Unless you're planning on spending the night at 20,000 feet in the Himalayas or on Denali, the Rab Expedition 1000 -22 Degree Down Sleeping Bag is warm enough to keep you from waking up as a popsicle. While not quite as warm as the Expedition 1200 and 1400, the 1000 is nearly a pound lighter than the latter, and uses the same 850-fill hydrophobic European goose down and sandwich of water-resistant Pertex Endurance/Microlight fabrics to keep you toasty and dry. It also uses the same longitudinal baffle design, with Flowgate technology in the torso to keep the down from shifting and an angled footbox for comfort and consistent insulation. You're only as warm as the air that your bag can trap, so Rab designed the Expedition with close-fitting neck and face baffles, along with a collar and drawcord hood, to prevent heat leaking out, and gave it a roomy design to be compatible with down clothing at basecamp. If that's not enough, it also features a zippered internal pocket for storage, and a drybag compression sack so you can carry your bag easily and safely.
