To eliminate drag, the Body Paint 3.0 Speed Suit features a virtually zero-seam design using a low-profile, compacted thread Body Paint Lycra. Turbulent air is controlled as it comes off the helmet and front of the bike, by remaining close to the body, producing a managed airflow that ultimately reduces drag. Castelli claims that this suit will save you 12 watts over 40 kilometers compared to its closest rival.The Body Paint 3.0 features mesh zones on the back and upper arms to aid in cooling and thermo-regulation. The fit and position of the arms is secured by a comfortable loop system at the thumb webbing. Because the Speed Suit isn't intended for base miles, Castelli has kept a back flap to pin your number.Finally, the Speed Suit features Castelli's most innovative chamois, the Progetto X2 Air. The skin-care layer of the Progetto conforms to the body without folding by using a seamless bacteriostatic fabric, which ensures airflow and assists in evaporation. The second layer is built with multi-density foam with varying thickness to ensure you get support where you need it most. Castelli's Viscous inserts (a perforated padding added to the sensitive ishial and perineum pressure regions) provides additional comfort.
